Palm Springs • Coachella Valley
Designed for the desert.
Built for living.
Custom homes, transformative renovations and thoughtfully planned ADUs—guided from early feasibility through construction.
Our Approach
A more considered way to build.
A successful home begins long before construction starts. Palm Springs Signature Homes brings planning, budget awareness, design coordination, permitting and field execution into one disciplined process.
We work closely with homeowners, architects, engineers and specialty trades to turn ideas into spaces that are beautiful, practical and buildable.
The result is a clearer process, fewer surprises and a home that feels intentional from the first drawing to the final detail.
What We Build
Three residential pillars. One accountable team.
Custom Homes
Ground-up residences designed around the property, the desert climate and the way you want to live.

Rework the home you already know. Structure, systems, light and a stronger indoor-outdoor connection.

Secondary residences designed as architecture—not an afterthought—so they belong on the property.
Explore ADUsBuilt for the Coachella Valley
Desert architecture asks more of a home.
In the Coachella Valley, good design is about more than appearance. Solar exposure, shade, glazing, mechanical performance, outdoor living and material durability directly affect how a home feels throughout the year.
We consider those conditions early—when changes are easier, smarter and more cost-effective to make.
-
Shade & Orientation
Thoughtful placement of openings, overhangs and outdoor areas helps control heat and improve comfort.
-
Indoor–Outdoor Living
Doors, courtyards, patios and covered areas should feel like part of the architecture rather than additions to it.
-
Mechanical Performance
HVAC, insulation, ductwork and building-envelope decisions matter enormously in a desert climate.
-
Materials That Belong Here
Exterior finishes and construction assemblies should respond to heat, sun, wind and long-term exposure.
Process
From idea to completion.
Every project is different, but the process should never feel unclear.

Principal
A builder should be accountable for more than the finished photograph.
Palm Springs Signature Homes is led by Thang Cao, a California General Contractor with hands-on experience in residential construction, remodeling, mechanical systems and project coordination.
His approach combines design awareness with practical construction knowledge—helping clients understand not only what can be built, but how decisions affect budget, schedule, comfort and long-term performance.
The goal is simple: create a well-designed home and make the experience of building it more understandable.

What to Know Before Buying Land for a Custom Home
A beautiful lot is not automatically a buildable, affordable or well-oriented home site. Feasibility should precede a floor plan.
Desert Living
Designing for Desert Heat: Windows, Shade and HVAC
In the Coachella Valley, comfort is designed as much as it is equipped. Orientation, glass, shade and mechanical systems have to work together.

Renovate or Rebuild? How to Decide in Palm Springs
The right answer is rarely only about taste. Structure, systems, lot value and how much of the house needs to change all belong in the decision.
